Rybelsus, explained.
The once-daily semaglutide tablet for type 2 diabetes. How it works, how to take it, what it costs and where to get it where you live. Written independently, with every claim referenced.
- Wake One tablet, empty stomach Swallow it whole with a sip of plain water: no more than 120 ml (half a glass). UK and EU labels say after at least 8 hours without food.
- +30 min Wait at least 30 minutes No food, no other drinks, no other oral medicines while it is absorbed.
- Then Breakfast and other tablets Eat, drink and take your other medicines as normal.

New lower-number doses
1.5, 4 and 9 mg tablets are replacing 3, 7 and 14 mg in many countries. Each matches its old dose; the numbers are lower because more of the new tablet is absorbed.
